The Southside Academic Team is open to fourth and fifth grade students who excel in various subject areas.  This team practices weekly and competes against other schools.  Coaches are Sharon Tedder and Maggie Smith. Please contact them with any questions!

Third and fifth grade students have the opportunity to participate on the math team. Students on these teams represent Southside at the district level competition. During the 2024 school year competetion third grade placed 3^rd and fifth grade recieved 1^st place.  Multiple students recieved individual awards.  The team is coached by Mr. Lee Lambert and Mrs. Stephanie Sharp.   

The Sound of Southside Chorus is lead by Mr. Al Courington, Visual and Performing Arts teacher at Southside Elementary. Chorus members have performed in the Madisonville Christmas Parade the last two years. They also perform annually at the Hopkins County Schools Chorus festival. Auditions for the Chorus will be held in the fall.

The Southside archery team is open to 4^th and 5^th grade students.  Individuals compete at various tournaments and the team even quaified to shoot in the state competition.  Head coach of the Southside Archery team is Mrs. Jamie Brooks.
